Rolls-Royce RB211 Gas Turbine

Manthorpe Engineering currently supplies several components for the Rolls-Royce RB211 Industrial Gas Turbine Engine. These include 3 major Casings; the Air Intake Casing (left rear), Intermediate Casing (right rear) and Compressor Casing (front).

Initial Computer Aided Design model of the Rolls-Royce RB211 Air Intake Casing. The preliminary CAD model of the Air Intake Casing is imported into UniGraphics software. This can then be used for numerical control programming, tool path and machine simulation and post-processing.

The Rolls-Royce RB211 Air Intake Casing in the intermediate stages of manufacture. The Air Intake Casing is manufactured from an Aluminum casting using vertical boring and 5-axis machining capabilities.

The completed RB211 Air Intake Casing is anodized and painted ready for shipment.

The Rolls-Royce RB211 Intermediate Casing in the semi finished stages of manufacture. The Intermediate Casing is manufactured from an Aluminum casting using vertical boring and 5-axis machining capabilities.

The completed RB211 Intermediate Casing is anodized and painted ready for shipment.

Initial Computer Aided Design model of the Rolls-Royce RB211 Compressor Casing.

The Rolls-Royce RB211 Compressor Casing in the semi finished stages of manufacture. The Compressor Casing is manufactured from a ring rolled forging which is rough machined, split and then finish machined.
