Rolls-Royce Industrial Trent 800 Exhaust Volute

Manthorpe won a contract to supply the Industrial Trent 800 Exhaust Volute to a very testing design which originated in the United States. The design consisted of eight radial tubes forming a segmented circle adjacent to the engine with an oblong at the outlet.

The initial design definition had to be re-captured to enable the development of additional plates.

These needed incorporating into the existing design. This modification involved extensive use of Manthorpe's in-house design facilities, equipped with the latest Pro-Engineer Computer Aided Design software.

The final fabrication saw the outcome of several design reviews and included many suggested improvements by Manthorpe's experienced Engineers. These included revision of the seal fixings at both ends to reduce costs and to improve site installation.
