Manthorpe’s best selling GL250-03 Drop-Down/Lift-Out Access Door has a twist action catch which secures the frame in three places to provide a secure, draught-sealed fit.
A pole attachment is supplied for opening the door from floor level. If required, the door can be removed completely.
Doors can also be supplied with insulation material which is compliant with Part L regulations to a rating of 0.35Wm²k.
The GL251-03 Lockable Door has all the benefits of the standard drop down door and is especially suitable for accommodation which has shared loft space.
Manthorpe Loft Doors, GL250-03, GL280F and GL270F, meet the requirements of the BS 9250:2007 Code of Practice for design of the air tightness of ceilings in pitched roofs. The air leakage rate through the loft hatch and frame, when tested to BS EN 13141-1:2004, is less than 1.0m³/hr at a pressure difference of 2Pa. It therefore conforms to the BS 5250: 2002 Code of Practice for the control of condensation in buildings (incorporating Amendment No.1 2005) 8.4.1.2, Air tightness of sloping and horizontal ceilings.
Manthorpe Loft Doors have also been tested and meet the requirements of the Building Regulations 2000, Conservations of Fuel and Power in New Dwellings part L1A 2006 as well as the reasonable limit for the design air permeability of 10m³/(h.m²) at 50Pa. BRE Tests 231-637 and 233-677.
