G243/G244 - Flexible Cavity Closers
The G243 and G244 Flexible Cavity Closers sections allow for arched and round windows and doors to be easily incorporated into building designs without compromising insulation requirements.
Manthorpe flexible cavity closer is available in two alternative profiles the G243 Cavity Closer suits standard cavities while the G244 is suitable for rebated details. Both are suitable for closing the cavity at circular or arched openings with a minimum diameter of 500mm.
Any size opening can be produced, from domestic ‘bull’s eye’ windows to large commercial applications, through its unique joining system and flexible capability.
It meets all current building regulations and achieves the required U value at the reveal of door and window openings when the frames are fixed to allow a 15mm overlap into the cavity. It is recommended that a suitable cavity tray should be fitted above the window to shed water away from the closer, frame and inner leaf.
The cavity closer is non-load bearing and should not be used as replacement for traditional methods of fixing window and door frames to the masonry.
