The Manthorpe Group is a versatile and experienced group of manufacturing companies with its headquarters located on its own 13 acre site in Ripley, Derbyshire, UK. Comprising Engineering and Building Products divisions the group has flourished, now with over 30 and 25 years experience in the divisions’ respective fields.
Manthorpe Engineering
Founded in 1978, Manthorpe Engineering provides a first tier, single source supply to the world’s leading power generation, defence and nuclear engineering manufacturers. Encapsulating design-for-manufacture and collaborative engineering disciplines including testing, assembly, supply chain management and kitting, adding competitive advantage to our customers world-wide.
The Company has grown both organically and by acquisition - Purpose Engineering Ltd was purchased in 1997, followed by Wagstaff & Appleton in 1999 and both now operate from a modern well equipped manufacturing facility within the Manthorpe group site in Ripley. The combined experience of these two companies of over 90 years in their respective industries has strengthened our knowledge base and brought new and lucrative business to the company.
Our Machining Division, now with over 6,000 sq/m (65,000 sq/ft) of manufacturing area, provides a totally integrated capability for the precision machining, testing and assembly of complex components for the civil, military, industrial and marine power generation, defence and nuclear industries. We specialise in the machining of difficult-to-manufacture, performance-critical components from a complete range of aerospace alloys, both ferrous and non ferrous and including the exotic alloys such as Nimonic, Inconel, Waspaloy and Titanium.
Manthorpe Building Products
Established in 1986, as part of the Manthorpe Group, Manthorpe Building Products allowed the company to branch out its manufacturing knowledge and experience into the area of plastic injection moulding, vacuum forming and extrusion. From its humble beginnings Manthorpe Building Products is now an ambitious and dynamic company in its own right producing its own range of market leading products for the building industry with particular emphasis on domestic new build. From design to sales we are very proud of our investment in new manufacturing equipment and staff, continually striving to improve every aspect of our business.
Now with almost 25 years experience in the plastics industry we manufacture virtually all our products in-house and in recent years we have invested extensively in technology and cutting edge machinery. Using modern manufacturing processes we injection mould, extrude and vacuum form to a high standard with our state of the art IT systems supporting every aspect of our business.
